A modo de introducción analítica y conceptual, este programa se inicia con un breve recorrido por la historia de la Agricultura Urbana. Si bien, las primeras manifestaciones agrícolas dentro de la ciudad han estado orientadas a contrarrestar situaciones de escasez, como en Estados Unidos durante la Gran Depresión, en Inglaterra, durante la Primera y Segunda Guerra Mundial, o en Cuba, después de la desintegración de la Unión Soviética; en la actualidad y en España, ha adoptado un carácter notablemente distinto.
